Your Body at Week 18

At this stage in your pregnancy, some women tend to gain weight gradually and others tend to notice a big spurt one week and then nothing the other. By the time you reach 21 weeks, you will defiantly look pregnant.

By now, you may start to feel some little flutters in your belly that may get mistaken for trapped wind. However, these flutters are quite different to what you are probably used to. So yes, that is your baby giving you a nudge. For some woman it can still be a couple of weeks away before they start to feel their baby moving about in there.

Your Baby At Week 18

Your baby’s sexual organs are now well developed, which means it is quite obvious on a scan whether you are having a boy or a girl. Your 21-week scan is fast approaching, and if you haven’t already found out the gender through an early blood test, make sure to notify the person who is doing your scan if you wish to know the gender or not.

Week 18 TODO's

  1. Why not start to plan a pre babymoon? A final little getaway with you and your partner before your 2 becomes 3!
  2. I’m sure by now, you are struggling to fit into your ordinary clothes. It might be time for a shopping spree, but without splashing the cash. Supermarkets have a great selection of maternity clothes that won’t break the bank.
  3. Before your scan, its best to point out if you want to find out the gender of your baby as not all women do.
